Roger "Syd" Barrett, founding member of Pink Floyd has died at the age of 60 from diabetes.

One of the most interesting, elusive muscians of the 60's he combined a fragile psyche with chronic doses of LSD, according to reports, and fell into the black hole of schizophrenia from which he possibly never emerged.  Ultimately a schizophrenic is self-absorbed; they lose any interest in anything outside themselves.  We all hope we can find the "inner being" that must be present.  But you never do.

Syd Barrett ultimately had no interest or even awareness of Pink Floyd by the time he passed away.  Those years were, undoubtedly, buried behind "The Wall" never to be reclaimed.

I wonder what God does with broken Schizophrenics?

I have been thinking, for over a year, about ways in which I could provide emergency counseling services using the internet as a conduit for individuals to contact me. On the one hand I'm pretty sure I don't want to provide my phone number to the general populace and end up being a recipient of "spam" calls and yet all counseling would of necessity be over the phone. I would also like to contemplate actually taking calls in the middle of the night from desperate people. I don't sleep well anyhow. Secondly I have to figure out how to be financially reciprocated for my professional services. PAY PAL might be an option; otherwise I have to set up a credit card system. I'm not sure exactly how PAY PAL works but possibly my son could help me set it up. I certainly would appreciate suggestions! Let me know what you think. jb

Things going a little slowly as I find my way thru Townhall.com and begin to learn some of the features including my password so I may log on and post.  They're new (Townhall) and I'm new.  Hopefully it all works out.

New challenges; it works for me.

PEOPLE IN CRISIS! Psychologist do NOT possess all wisdom and knowledge but I care about the people I see and attempt to share with them as they experience the trials and tribulations of life. It is profoundly moving to hear some of the stories; the pains and the joys. Being a psychologist is a great privilege, a great education and truly humbling. In my limited way I continue wanting to help those who want help. It's what I do. jb
